About Me

Heather Robin was born in 1977, in Whangarei, New Zealand. By age 5 she had begun to sing with her family at various Country Music Festivals and Competitions throughout New Zealand. By the time she was 12 she had won a number of reginal titles and had begun to firmly established herself as an up and coming young country music artist. By age 14 Heather had had the oppertunity to represent her region in the New Zealand Country Music Entertainer Of The Year, no less than 3 times, as a solo artist, as a duo and as a group.

At age 15 unforseen circumstances forced Heather's family to move to a different area, and they stopped participating in music for some time. While not publically performing, Heather continued to sing with her family and started to write her own songs...... songwriting would become a passion she would pursue from that time on.

In January of 1998, Heather headed to Australia, and became involved in music once again, only this time as part of the worship team in her local church. Songwriting, playing guitar and singing as often as possible.

It wasnt until 2005 that Heather met up with some local bluegrass musicians that were looking for a singer in their band, they already had a guitar player, so they suggested that Heather take up mandolin, to help complete the the band. And thus Heathers musical journey into bluegrass started. Over the past four years Heather has had the opportunity to perform in many festivals and concerts throughout Australia including the Australian National Bluegrass Convention.

In 2009 Heather began to DJ on internet bluegrass station; www.worldwidebluegrass.com, and it was through her affiliation with the station she began to make contact with a number of great bluegrass artists within the states. Heather has recently returned from 3 months in the USA writing recording, performing and broadcasting in various concerts and festivals in 7 Southern States. She is now currently in New Zealand at The New Zealand Radio Training School in Tauranga furthering her broadcasting education.

Bluegrass has become a passion for Heather, and she is never happier that when she is broadcasting and performing her music....... and it shows. She delivers her version of both traditional bluegrass songs and her own original music with passion and pleasure .......... the only way she knows how ........ full throttle and from the heart.
